Georges Rousse
Bio
Georges Rousse was born in 1947 in Paris, where he lives and works.
Passionate of photography since his childhood, he began a professional activity of advertising photography and architecture, while pursuing an artistic practice of this medium oriented to the landscape and the abandoned architectures. It was with the discovery of Land Art that he decided to intervene in the photographic field of these deserted spaces and to introduce painting with the ultimate aim of creating a photographic work. Then, he invests abandoned places that he has always loved to transform them into a pictorial space and build a unique ephemeral work.
His work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions in institutions such as the Kunsthalle (Vienna), the Georges Pompidou Centre (Paris), the Guggenheim Museum (New York), the House of European Photography (Paris) and the Mori Art Museum (Tokyo).
