Ana Vidigal
Bio
Lisbon, 1960. Graduated in Painting from the Superior School of Fine Arts, Lisbon in 1984. Granted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Metal engraving practices Casa das Artes de Tavira. Resident painter at the Museum of Contemporary Art – São Tiago Fortress, Funchal (1998/1999). In 1995 and 2002 she was invited by the Lisbon Metropolitan to make the tile panels for the Alvalade and Alfornelos stations (built). The Portuguese Institute of Architectural Heritage, makes a porcelain cup. Illustrates the book of children's poems “Como quem diz” 2005. Ifitry Residence, Morocco 2013. Invited by the Embassy of Portugal in Colombia in 2018 to give two Master Classes (Universidad de los Andes and FLORA ars + natura) and a site-specific at University of the Andes. In 2019 he exhibits at the Museu Leopoldo de Almeida in Caldas da Rainha and in 2020 at the Museuy Fundaçao Arpad Szenes Vier. Statement
She speaks, through her works in collage, painting, assembly and installation, about the time, about memory. She uses them as processes of decontextualization and reconfiguration of images, which takes from different sources, exploring the social and political values, and even memory that they transport itself.
