Perla Benveniste
Bio
At the end of the 1960s and while interest in kinetic art was growing in Argentine art, Perla Benveniste (1942) became interested in the study of movement and the phenomena of perception. After the exhibition La inestabilidad, a massive audience participated in the playful experiences that Julio Le Parc presented in 1967 at the Torcuato Di Tella Institute. In 1968, the Salón Nacional opened the “Visual Investigations” section to include the new formats of experimental art. Benveniste obtained a Mention in the Visual Research Competition held in 1970. And with the passing of the decade, a retreat was originated in her productions that gave rise to a marked transformation in the poetics of her works.
In recent years, kineticism has recovered its place in the market thanks to important exhibitions, in our country and abroad, that have dealt with this artistic movement that had its heyday in the 1960s.
