José Manuel Ballester

Bio

(Madrid 1960), painter and photographer, graduated in Fine Arts in 1984 from the Complutense University of Madrid. National Prize for Engraving in 1999. Goya Prize for Painting Villa de Madrid and later in 2008 the Photography Prize of the Community of Madrid. National Photography Award 2010. Trajectory Award 2023 Enaire Foundation.
Among his numerous exhibitions we highlight "Places of Passage" (Valencia 2003), "Setting Out" (New York 2003) or "Room 523" (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid 2005), "Fervor de Metrópolis" (Pinacoteca of the State of Sao Paulo 2010), "Abstraction in Reality", Sala Alcalá 31 (Community of Madrid 2011), "Forests of light" Edificio Tabacalera, Madrid ( 2013) and recently "Allumar" Museu da Electricidade (Lisbon 2015) and "Museos en Blanco" at the Ivorypress Gallery (2015). "Bilbao 2020-05-15" at the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum (2020) and "Hidden Spaces 2007 2020" at the New Jerusalem Museum in Moscow.
