Mônica Nador + JAMAC
Bio
Monica Nador (Ribeirão Preto, 1955) mixes architecture, pedagogy, history and visual arts in her academic education. This set of disciplines is reflected in her work as an artist and activist since the beginning of her career. Architecture leads her to urbanism and, consequently, to the contact with underpriviledged communities on the urban outskirts. Pedagogy leads her to include, between the resources she uses, methodologies linked to developing people's skills. History provides her with knowledge about the social, political and economic background of the State. From the visual arts, techniques, trends, collective and radical actions were added to build a repertoire that would lead her to an inquisitive and transforming action. First on traditional media, in which she would challenge form and content in paintings and drawings, and later in her life project, Jamac.
