Statement
Iosu Aramburu's work from reinterpretations of modern languages, Aramburu seeks to question the failures of the modern project. He mainly explores abstraction and modernist architecture, using its elements as a starting point. From the materiality of his work, he reduces the totalitarian impetus of modern art and recovers aesthetic patterns to allow him to have a critical angle to the paradigm of modernity.
Aramburu studied at the Faculty of Art of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where he graduated with honors in painting. He has participated in residencies at Triangle- France (Marseille) and Fonderie Darling (Montreal). In 2018 he won the ICPNA Prize (Lima) and the Plaza Paz Soldán National Competition.
