Statement

The family tradition of keeping “old things”, provided me a pile of belongings that became
raw material for my artwork. From these memories I create a series of objects and poetic
actions that dialogue with personal and public, historical and introspective matters. I
connect myself with my ancestors by the practice of embroidery, drawing and
performance for restoring behaviors (R.Schechner) through repetitive actions that lead my
body until tiredness, with simple gestures that oppose to memory degradation, operating
as bridges between the living and the dead, helping to overcome absences and going
through mourning. Always shrouded in an intimacy state, my practices invoke death,
blood, violence, ferocity between animals copied from my grandfather’s sketchbook,
appearing over raw materials, in an attempt to let them speak for myself.
