Statement
Since the beginning of his artistic practice, Daniel Benaim has rehearsed a plastic language linked to critical reflection on the behavior of cities, based on the unstable paradoxes that public space reveals. His proposal vindicates the symbolic postcard and the emblematic souvenir that interpret the iconographic universe of each place he travels. The street -territory of sociopolitical and cultural interaction par excellence- is then the susceptible scenario to discover forms, signs and compatible or contradictory codes that recontextualize the disturbing urban drive: a category of photography that suggests the dimension of the theme park and so many other metaphors. constructed through photographic representation intervened by digital montage and image collage.
