Mauricio Salcedo

Bio

Born in Bogotá in 1993, Mauricio Salcedo develops his work from sculptural processes linked to architecture, layout and graphic production. His creative process is located in the exploration and approach to architecture, understanding it from its spatiality linked to memory and the collective processes that shelter it. Starting from the immediate setting of his childhood, Salcedo refers to the house where he lives, and establishes a dialogue with the self-constructed architecture, pointing out aspects such as the condition of forced displacement and rural exodus, intrinsic in the settlement processes of these houses. buildings. In turn, he proposes a look where the house is a vital resource that goes beyond its functional character, pointing to traditions and the community as essential aspects of its development and understanding it as a transversal aspect of its latent stratification.
