Gamaliel Rodríguez

Bio

Gamaliel Rodriguez obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the Kent Institute of Arts and Design in Kent, England and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2011. His work has been exhibited in various shows such as the "Solo Projects" at ARCO (Madrid , 2012), "Dark Flow Lurking" at the David Castillo Gallery (Miami, 2012), "Does not migrate" at the Triangle Association (New York, 2011), PINTA (London 2010) and many others.

Statement

Influenced by the rhetoric of images introduced by Roland Barthes, Gamaliel's work deals with the study of the image itself. His interest develops around the use of drawing in a historical context and its reinterpretation or analysis, since he believes that the notion of expression resides in the ability to reinterpret images in a process that involves the creation of a new message.
